Eleven Superstart: 11 nutrients in one low-salt granule

What is the most important thing to consider when it comes to a starter fertilizer at seeding time?

We believe there are four components that simply cannot be argued or ignored in the perfect starter fertilizer.

  1. 11 nutrients = maximum plant nutrition
  2. One prill = zero nutrient segregation
  3. Low salt index = seed safe & better for the soil
  4. 100% water soluble = available to the plant on day one (unlike MAP)

Where can you get a starter fertilizer that meets all these needs? It’s easier to find than you might think. Eleven Superstart fertilizer from Top Krop is a low salt, granular fertilizer designed to be placed in furrow with your seed. It’s 11 nutrients in one prill – there’s nothing else like it. This starter fertilizer is made up of macro- and micronutrients, all necessary for optimal plant health. These include:

  • Nitrogen – 8%
  • Phosphorus – 29%
  • Potassium – 5%
  • Sulphur – 10%
  • Calcium – 10%
  • Magnesium – 0.4%
  • Manganese – 0.15%
  • Zinc – 0.4%
  • Iron – 0.3%
  • Boron – 0.04%
  • Copper – 0.025%

Eleven Superstart is the successor to Top Krop’s TK-10 starter fertilizer, and now includes one extra nutrient: manganese.

There is no other fertilizer on the market that combines this many nutrients in the same granule. When the seed has access to these 11 nutrients, it is given the best chance of growing with faster emergence and increased vigor. The fact that all these nutrients are in the same prill alleviates any nutrient segregation and provides more consistent nutrient uptake.

Unlike traditional MAP fertilizer solutions that have a salt index of over 25, Eleven Superstart Fertilizer is low salt registering at only 18.5. This means that it can safely be placed near the seed with no chance of heating up or burning the seed itself. High salt content in other starter fertilizers creates a drought situation in the soil around the seed, pushing moisture away, making it tougher for seeds to germinate. The low salt index of Eleven Superstart eliminates any seed mortality commonly found with higher salt alternatives.

Eleven Superstart fertilizer is also 100% water-soluble. This allows the nutrients to be available to the plant on day one, unlike MAP which is typically only 60% available phosphate.

Eleven Superstart was designed for canola and is also an excellent fit for legumes and cereals. Recommended rates include 40 lbs/acre for pulses, 50/acre for cereals, and 60lbs for canola. If you are really pushing yield hard and your tests recommend more phosphorus, you can go as high as 100 lb/acre and be seedling safe.
